Sound adjustment
Analysis of the existing set-up and implementation of sound-optimising measures.
Finding the sound
Somethingt I enjoy very much in my profession is adjusting the sound of stringed instruments in direct collaboration with the musician. The process of finding the desired sound, and exploring different sound possibilities for the respective instrument is particularly exciting.
The adjustment procedure
Significant changes in the sound can be achieved by, for example, simply changing the position of the soundpost, adjusting the bridge, and positioning the tailpiece. If at all possible, this is done in the presence of the musician, who plays the instrument between the respective adjustments. In this way, the musician gets to know his instrument even better and can form a broader opinion of his own sound preferences.
